After a long bus ride we stopped for lunch at Ch Beck. An estate owned by Michele Gassier. We sampled several if his wines. All of the Gassier line which are fabulous fruity wines. with depth and structure. Rich and velvety on the pallet they aim to please and succeed. Mostly syrah based with some grenach. Look for his new wine, a white called a capella. Based on the rieslings from Mosel. It is simply a great wine that can hold its own. We also sampled some of thw Halo De Jupiter wines. A partnership that is worling out for everyone especially me.
We tasted the Cote D Rhone, the Vaqueras, and the Chateaunwuf du Pape. Wow what fantastic wine. Concentrated and intense. High floral and dark fruit nose, hints of smoke and licorice. Just amazing wines. You must try some. The wines of the Rhone.
