Georges Duboeuf

Our last stop of the day brought us to Beaujolais.  More specifically to Georges Duboeuf the King of Beaujolais.  Beaujolais is know as the lighter red wine. Made from Gamay it exisits to compliment food and be the easy drinking go to table wine. Now if you believe that is all it is you are sadly mistaken.  Domaine Pignard is smooth easy drinking and a great go to.
The Michelin Moulin Vent is deep rich and complex. The 4 Vents is a beautiful rich dark fruity wine with cinnamon , spice and everything nice. The Brouilly is espcially fine. Beautiful, floral velvet and silk.  We tried several of the whites the burgundy white  the Pouilly Fusse Galioperies (yes I misspelled the hell out of that). If you do not like the big bold butter oak chardonnay that is California then this is one for you to try.  Soft elegant no oak. Crisp delightful with touches of peach.
We were pampered with a traditional dinner. And "inducted" into the oldest union, the grape pickers of Beajolais.
Thanks to Debeouf for a tremendous end to our day.
